I truly cannot believe it's HERE! Finally, the room looks set up (semi) and I'm ready (sort of) bright and early, 6:45, we need to be there to greet those sweet babies...So, hopefully all will go well tomorrow.  And the rest of the year.
Stay tuned...Also, Jason & Dawn's wedding (2 weekends ago) was great~ Pics included here...http://www.flickr.com/photos/ruthiesoriginals/?saved=1

1st of all, you wonder about the pic of the noodles you say?  Well, click here for full description.  Ate these last night, I'd write more about what I ate, but I'm not quite sure. My cousin, Clif, took us to Tasty China in the Nazareth Plaza off of 41.  Scared?  Umm, you should be, a little bit, only because one of the many spicy spices they use is called a 'numbing' spice and because you're not allowed to ask exactly what is 'in' each dish.  I digress, DanDan noodles, hopefully you clicked above, were my fave.  So incredibly spicy, but VERY good, if you get a chance, go to TASTY CHINA, extremely authentic szechuan food with the most knowledgeble waitress and chef around.  Clif hooked us up with an array of dishes, none really, of which we knew any of the ingredients...but most were great!  Except the serviously NUMBING spice they use that's supposed to be like 'callad greens'  she said...And, if they have fish that day, they'll take it out of the tank and give you that fish fully fried, eyes and all I'm sure.  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at TASTY CHINA, thanks Clif for rec, and Keegan's for trivia and drinks!  Good start to the work week....My first day back at work?  Sort of successful.  Leaving for Bec's wedding tomorrow, so trying to get my classroom set up 'LFS' style is a bit of a challenge, but hopefully I can work more on it on the plane, since I need to have it put together by THIS Fridayish, and I'll be in...CA~ So, sorry team, you'll have to read the post-its where 'things' should go!  Good to see all today though, weird to be back b/c it feels like we never left!

Which then brings me to the b'maid dress fiasco,(dress pictured above, no, wish that WAS me!) that Helen on Powder Springs Road has now fixed! Thank you, Jesus.  Needle-n-Thread is the best for alterations... She took it in, WAY in, and had to let it back out bc it wouldn't zip, so, within the hour after the 'meltdown' she had it ready and right back to where it needed to be.  Hopefully all will go well, because the only sizes they have left online in a crunch are 2 and 18.  Not so sure I can work any hemming tape on those sizes myself!  Pics of wedding will come soon~ Best wishes Bec & Matt!

Miss you Heath. Although Heath never knew me, I am sure he would have really enjoyed me.  :)  I always had a really big crush on him after The Patriot, so it was surreal watching his incredible performance in The Dark Knight the day it opened~  He did a really good job, I can't imagine being an actor/tress and getting into a role or someone else, but if I had to choose, this one would be a very interesting character to play.  Too bad he wasn't around to see how well it did in the box office~ unbelieveable~!  If you get the chance soon, hopefully by now you won't have to wait in Six Flags type lines to see it and won't have to go at 11 to avoid the crowd...you should definitely see it! Although a bit dark and disturbing, a very good movie! A from me.

On a note that everyone can identify with...I can tell the difference between Diet and Classic Coke by now.  Thanks, been drinking it for YEARS, so don't doubt my palette, people behind the counter who try to give me COKE instead of DIET.  On the THIRD try of going back and forth from the stadium seats, I suggested they change out their 'tap' of DIET COKE, because, infact, it was REGULAR COKE, and I got some really strange looks...so I asked them to pour me some DIET COKE from a different fountain, and THERE IT WAS FOLKS! DIET. Thank you movie counter clerks for finally believing me...AND could I please be compensated for all my troubles with some M&M's?  "Let me go get a manager..."         NEVERMIND!!!

We'll start with the positive today~ Last night, at Morgan & Peggy McNeel's wonderful home, Jason & Dawn had a great party hosted by the Brother Whitlock Band!  The Fords, Chastains, Engrams, McNeels, Brooks', & Nortons.  Except for the rain at the beginning of the evening, all went smoothly and the party was fun! Lots were seen in the crowd, and if I had a better memory I'd name them all, but many Auburn friends, and some Marietta grads.  Can't wait until Jason & Dawn's big day 3 weeks! Some pics from party below: Morgan & Peggy, and some of the Brother Whitlock group & family.

Second: My refridgerator is making a HORRIBLE noise like it's about to take off, so, I guess I'll be scheduling a fix-it man to come over to take care of that, woke me up several times last night and leaks like a mutha.  Lovely.  Things are fallin apart around here like crazy! House needs to be painted, etc. FUN!  See the pic to the left? That's Shelby in the middle (Susan on the right)  See how happy Shelby normally is? Well, let me share our UNhappy experience below...

Well, here it is folks, note the yellow truck that nearly ran us over at SugarCakes on the Marietta Square!  We had just come from a grueling bootcamp 6:30-7:30 a.m. Tues & Fridays at MHS...and our ritual is to go ruin it afterwards by having breakfast.  However, this past Tues, we were unwelcomed by the Johnny on the Spot Truck emptying, no lie, 8 Port-a-Pottys while we tried to enjoy the ambiance outside.  Needless to say, we had to take our party inside.  It was horrendous!  But, SugarCakes is really good, you should try it if you've not yet! Been there for b'fast and lunch and everything I've had has been great! Except on port-a-potty emptying day! Ick!

Stay with me here people, I know, it sounds hard to follow this one.

1st: just got back from a very liberating trip to the Awful WAffle, SOLO! It wasn't awful it was delicious, and I'd been craving cheese eggs all day long, after a fun evening out with friend Nicole, until wee hours.  So, I took my book (very good: Love the One Your With) thanks to Becca, and ordered from a lady about to give birth while delivering my all star platter!  Bless her heart. But, I found it very enjoyable, it was quiet, and for those of you who know me well, you know I DON'T mind doing things solo, just never been to the Waffle House by myself.  No biggie though, I'd do it again, and Bandit enjoyed the leftovers! win win.  I couldn't wait til band let out at 10:30 for D-rock.

2nd: My neeeyba (as we affectionately call each other) Melissa and I had to tend to some neeeybahood duties in our subdivision today, and have noticed a new, questionable summer trend...Hanging baskets from trees, anyone? Do you do this? If so, interesting.  Maybe it was the purple container the one was in that brought us to questioning the concept, but when I looked it up on Google images, it's a for real thing to do, hang your summer hanging baskets from trees, plastic, wire, and all!  And if you could see 'the knoll' you would see many love to do that here.  Classic look, maybe without the plastic? Hmm.

3rd: Last night's festivities, that led to the Waffle House craving all day long, was seeing Jarrod Harris, (my old college roomate's aquaintance in HS) at The Cave (holla) in Kennesizzle.  He (and his girlfriend, Elise) were hilarious! I was glad we went and if you get a chance to go hear him, you should!!  He was very down to earth to talk to afterwards and his jokes were clever, it takes a lot to make me laugh, but he did! And he was kind enough to take a pic with us, we closed The Cave down last night and headed to an ultra classy place, Diamond Daves.   Wow, can't say I'll be going back anytime soon, but the band, Pistol Town, was entertaining! Thanks for fun night, Nicole! Yay summer!

BUT...I need to say a BIG I'm sorry, to trainer RIK!!! I was supposed to see him at All About Bodies at 7, needless to say...didn't make it.  My fault. Boooo!!!

I have a hard time sometimes, getting inspired to blog, or come up with catchy titles, but, while the stream of consiousness is flowing, (and wine, here I go!)

This picture is my mom's award given at my uncle's company, Traton, each year in her memory.  Today, 7 years ago, she passed away :( It is truly weird, that's the only way I can explain it, to have your #1 fear play out in real life! I won't go too much more into it, but, that was it, my #1 fear, mom (dad, or any family member) dying, and she did, and she hung on, fought hard, and long, and I miss her dearly.  Going to her grave is very spiritual for me and I feel she's still with me everyday in some way, shape, form, or reminder of her voice (telling what NOT to do!) haha.

But, I needed to touch on that before I get to the other things accomplished (not much) today.

Finished a book, (Valerie Bertinelli's Losing It) Don't Laugh, for those of you who know me, this is a big accomplishment, I like articles in magazines, and the Bottom Line:)  Thus, my title: One day at a time, get it? :) Valerie Bertinelli, good book, mostly about Van Halen, and Jenny Craig, good combo, huh?

Took a nap. (again, don't laugh, I have trouble 'napping' I wish I didn't, but I feel like i'm missing out/wasting time) can't really 'relax' 1 thing I wish I could change about myself.

Woke up from nap at 5 (yay!) just in time for a glass or two of my favorite cheap wine: Turning Leaf Merlot.  I have been able to find it even cheaper than $6 now! At Total Wine in Kennesizzle of Barrett Pkwy! ($4) Superclassy. But, it tastes better than some of the more expensive ones I've had and I love it. So, there ya go.

Almost last, I only have 4 more episodes of The Hills to catch up on from LAST season (3) I believe, and have watched about 10 in the past 3 days.  Impressive, mindless trash, I know.  But, I feel a sense of accomplishment to have watched these on my computer and almost fully know what has happened with the whole cast now.  I was so out of the loop for so long, with work and all...  I'll have to admit, I'm so over them and their antics as a whole. But, I must continue tomorrow (after my dear friend Britt has a baby nameless boy tomorrow afternoon!)

And, last but not least, got to spend some time with my sweet aunt (mom's sister) Vicki and cousin William.  What a swimmer! That was fun...

To another summer day, cheers!

1st: golf's constantly on here lately, and I've been wondering if VIJAY singh minds his name now that the term VAJAYJAY is so popular?  I can't stop wanting to call him VIJAYJAY singh.  (Guess I won't have to worry since I won't run into him anytime soon, but hopefully I will run into the Ocean's 13 cast)

2nd: See below's bumpersticker...PLEASE explain why people feel the need to a) litter their cars with sticky trash  b) include a cemetary of bumperstickers, shown below: "In Loving Memory of Pearl, then the years lived and a special little saying" Now, I know it may sound heartless, but I have been behind several cemetary windows lately, and it seems as if they're just waiting for the rest of their family, or favorite racecar driver, to pass away...just a thought, I don't get it.

3rd: SEX and the CITY MOVIE REVIEW from Siskel and ENGRAM:  It was pretty good! I give it, let's say, a B.  I was never one to Tivo S.A.T.C, and pop popcorn and have girls' nights to watch it, but I did tune in to many episodes.  Because I wasn't an A#1 fan, I didn't feel 'lost' when I went to see it by the story lines or anything, which was nice. It was a bit comical the way it seemed like a really long TV show/soap opera, and I got a kick outta that.  And I'll have to say I got a bit teary eyed in some spots.  I could have used less Carrie depression, because who needs to feel super depressed in a movie anyway.  But, things looked up.  So, a B. Go see it, it's approved.

I am not sure if it was the sleep deprivation from Vegas, (pics later) but I did fall asleep thrice in this summer flick. Several awkward pauses, where the audience should have been laughing, but weren't.  See how he looks like he's going to throw up in this pic?  ME TOO!  Included: appearances by A maybe B list stars, of which I couldn't believe they agreed to do in this piece! Overall big disappointment, possibly I got one or two laughs, but it gets a D from Ruthie's Originals Summer Movie Review~ "Siskel and Engram"...I'll be attending many more movies since summer is here (thank the Lord!) But, if you care about an excellent opinion, stay tuned.  If you'd like to disagree, feel free, or agree, c'mon~ I'll welcome the other reviews...Since I'm already super bored, NOT that I want to be at work mind you...but I could be doing a thousand other things than movie reviews.  Better run, off to Atkin's Park!

This is a pic of when a sweet girl (my bff becca-- from where I grew up in St.Louis) rescued me from Warren Jeff's arms--quite obviously.  She apparently lived 'on the outside' *note the normal 90's mini-skirt, while I was dressing in the common FLDS wear.  (Where in the world was I going? I keep wondering...I think it was a Methodist Church (hopefully) choir dinner or something, b/c I can't for the life of me imagine what posessed me to think this was at all ok.  My mom must have told me to wear these white tights with my pilgram dress?  Hmmm....sure would love to ask her about why nobody stopped me on the way out the door to change my Polygamy outfit..).Anyway, I'm out now--of the 'compound' and plan on wearing my H&M jeans out to dinner, thank goodness!
